Anyone that has encountered a corgi knows that they are intelligent, loving, energetic, snuggly, and so much more! Get together two designers with corgis and of course the outcome is corgi-inspired shawls. Add in a spectacular dyer and that inspiration becomes amazing yarn colorways. Talk to a wildly talented artist and soon corgi-inspired bags become part of the mix. This triangular shawl is inspired by Newton and Gracie, the Cardigan Welsh Corgis, and their “crazy puppy” (a.k.a. frapping) antics.

Size: 78” wingspan x 25” deep (200 x 65 cm)

Yarn: Fingering weight, 1300 yds.
Shown in Fiber & Hue Fluffy Luxe (435 yds / 100 g), in Miss Bossy Pants, 3 skeins

Gauge and Needles: 50 sts & 96 (or 48 RS only) rows = 4” / 10 cm on brioche cable panel using US 2-4 (2.5‑3.5 mm) — 1 cable panel repeat = 4” (10cm) square, 47”-60” circular needles recommended

32 sts & 22 rows = 4” / 10 cm in herringbone stitch using US 8-11 (5‑8 mm) or size needed to get gauge

Gauge is not critical for this project, but a different gauge will yield a different size and have different yarn requirements.

Notions: stitch markers (some removable), waste yarn, cable needle, extra needle 1 size larger than the one used to get gauge on brioche cable panel

Skills/Techniques: Brioche, cable, herringbone, knit, purl, increase, decrease. Suitable for adventurous knitters. The pattern is charted and fully written.
