Quote from book:

This jacket makes a bold statement in many ways. The combination of colorwork and cables is an interesting juxtaposition. And color enhances that! I chose autumnal colors- but frosty shades, or beige-y neutrals, or even blacks and shades of grey would also work. The asymmetrical closure features the most perfect wooden toggles I could find. Add a large collar, also placed off center completes the strong look.

This yarn is a mix of wool and mohair which has a springy quality that suits a large jacket. To change the look of the jacket entirely, you might eliminate the colored section entirely, just work the cabled pattern only. Or choose a very different yarn, like a metallic blend, to give the jacket a more dressy, less sporty, look.
