This hat is knit from the bottom up and is intended to flatter “big” hair, curls, and dreads. Instructions for converting the hat into a traditional beret with ribbed brim are also given in the pattern.

  • Red Heart Boutique Midnight, 2.5oz/70g balls, each approx 153yd/140m (65% acrylic, 23% wool, 6% metallic); 2 balls Shadow OR
  • Malabrigo Twist (100% Merino, 150 yards per 100g skein); 2 skeins Green Gray
  • 1 pair size 7 (4.5mm) circular needle, 16”/40cm long
  • 1 set size 7 (4.5mm) double-pointed needles
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Gauge
18 sts and 24 rounds = 4”/10cm in Stockinette
