Hats are one of my favorite items to knit and design. I wanted to create a series of hats to release in December. I ended up with five hat designs. I realized there were 5 Mondays in December and my release schedule was set.
Crinkles is knit using Mount Vernon from Cestari Yarns. It’s springy and comes in a wide variety of colors. This yarn was made for cables.
Hat can be made ore or less slouchy depending on your hat wearing preference.
The pattern name is a nod to my youngest son. His favorite expression during moments of frustration is “Oh, Crinkles!”. I’m not sure how he came up with it but I always smile when I hear him say it. I even find myself using it during moments of knitting frustration.
