Note: I was just informed that the Annies Attic version of the pattern is missing the instruction on how to attach flounces 1 and 6 together.
Joining
Once all 6 flounces are finished and you need to join, starting at the top/flat side of the skirt, whip stitch free loops on the last row to the beg ch being sure to match stitches.

A fun spiral skirt. Made by crocheting individual flounces one on top of another. Make as many or as few as you like. Use as many colors as you like. Includes instructions for 2 different trims, has an elastic waist.

Materials:
-Main color-any #2 size yarn 365-1500 yards main color. See chart below. (Some examples; Omega crys 2 strands held together, Omega Sinfona, Bernate Softee Baby, #10 crochet cotton 2 strands held together)
- Contrasting color-100-150 yards
-crochet hook size US F, 3.75mm
-yarn/tapestry needle

Gauge 10 dc & 5 dc rows=2”
To determine gauge make a swatch that is 36 dc sts by 16 dc rows then measure the center

This skirt is made by crocheting individual flounces one on top of another. It is crocheted in the length with an even number of increases in every row to cause it to spiral around. One flounce is made first then the second flounce starts part way down the last row of the previous flounce. After all the flounces have been made and the 2 ends sewn together; the trim is added. Finally the waist band is added by crocheting around the top of the opening.

Sizing
When deciding on what size to make, first decide how long you want the skirt from waist to bottom edge. The length ranges from 12” to 16”. Once you know how long you want the skirt then you will need to figure the width, use the chart below to decide how many flounces you will need. Measure around the widest part of the hips then pick the next number up in the chart

Design Ideas:
-Crochet the whole skirt including trim in all one color
-Crochet the skirt flounces in one color and trim in a contrasting color
-Alternate 2 colors and make an even number of flounces
-Make every flounce a different color for a fun scrappy look. Great for using up left over yarn.
