Splitty Campervan PDF Crochet Pattern

Being hopelessly addicted to campervans I couldn’t resist having a go at making a 3D version. As crochet really seems to lend itself to 3D it seemed the perfect way to construct my van. Of course now I’m very tempted to fill it with a little family of happy travellers and maybe a dog but that will have to wait for another day.

This pattern is for you to create a campervan based on the VW Splitscreen and some seats to go inside it, just in case you already have your own happy band of travellers.

What you’ll need to make one:
The campervan is made in Double Knitting Yarn (I used Wendy Merino DK) and took approximately 350g as follows: 50g red, 200g cream, 50g fawn and 50g grey.
Embroidery cotton in silver grey, orange, red and cream to create the lights and indicators.
2 sheets of Plastic Tapestry Canvas, 7 holes per inch. 13.6” x 22.6”, (34.6cm x 57.5cm). This is used to sandwich between the crocheted pieces and provide rigidity.
3.5mm and 2.5mm hooks

Please note that terms in the pattern are all written British style.

Tension
10 sts x 12 rows = approximately 5cm/2” using DK yarn and a 3.5mm crochet hook.

Finished Size
Approximately 31cm/12” long, 15/6”cm wide and 17cm/6.5” tall

The pattern is available fro £3.75 on my website link text and will be sent via a link in PDF format for you to print out. A PDF document for the plastic templates is also included.
