A while ago I ran into the Alligator Handbag from Merino, and was a bit disappointed that I could not buy the pattern separately, as ordering the complete kit for Europe would alltogether be a very, very expensive business.

So, I tried to improvise the knitted bag, which turned out quite well. But being a real crochet-lover, I had to try and see if I could come up with a crocheted version as well.

This is the pattern for the crocheted version of the Allogator bag. It works up real fast, and gives a very firm bag that does not necessarily need lining.

It uses a bit over 300 (so usually you need to buy 400) grams of thick yarn suitable for a 5 mm hook, or a double strand of yarn in a normal weight for a 3 mm hook. I used 2 strands of Bravo and Annabel Rapido.

Pattern can also be downloaded in DUTCH. Please check if yo have the correct one.
