This is an adorable hat. The photo shows beads. I used small pony beads. I did not include them in the instructions. I threaded them onto the yarn and slip a bead into place every 3 sts, every wrong side row, in a staggered fashion. French knots can be done instead. I love passing out the pattern at local Knit-Ins and for Knitting for Noggins programs.
