Our Churchmouse Classics knitted ‘Linen Stitch Scarf’ pattern is a perennial bestseller—the way the stitch mingles and pixelates a hand-dyed yarn is brilliant. So when our friend Sandra shared a crochet stitch with us that has the same effect, we fell in love! Unlike its knitted cousin, crocheted ‘linen stitch’ is utterly reversible—double brilliant!

Errata in patterns printed before May 24, 2014:
There are two errors in the “Pattern row” section.

In the “Pattern row” section, at the end of the first line, this should be added: Ch 2, turn.

Also, the last line of the “Pattern row” section should read: “Change to smaller hook.” (the Ch2 turn should be removed).

NOTE: This listing is for the OLD version of the Crocheted ‘Linen Stitch’ Scarf. This pattern is no longer available as a free pattern. It has been enhanced with a loop version, photographed by the talented Jared Flood, and is available for purchase here: Crocheted ‘Linen Stitch’ Scarf & Loop.
