I searched for a way to decrease the crocodile shells. Some people suggested gauging down hook size through the piece, some people decreased chains between shells or gathered the work to close it off, but nothing about how to decrease the shells.

That night I was late night hooking a crocodile cowl when I made some mistakes. I looked at my work in hopes that I could maybe work with what I’d done and that is when it hit me, I figured out how to decrease the shells!!

I made a beanie then of course I got the idea for a bonnet. My first bonnet I worked in a variegated yarn that didn’t photograph the stitches so I made another one in pink.
