About 15 years ago a local food shop had, for some reason, packets of 10 balls of 50g of cotton yarn for sale. I picked one up and made a little short crop top for throwing on after dance class.
Everybody asks about the top when I wear it, and it’s very easy to wear in summer with tank tops as the evenings draw in, or as an extra cover after exercise or yoga.

That top is still going strong, but I wanted a second one and picked up (in another yarn swap) some beautiful heavy silk…
In making up this second top I decided to sit down and write out the pattern/recipe for this top – and you can follow either set of instructions, depending on
a) How much you hate REALLY simple maths
b) How much you like being told exactly what to do.

If you can do some really easy maths and want something that actually fits you (as opposed to me) then use the ‘Recipe’ section.
Regardless of which section you use, I strongly recommend you read both parts before starting.
