You may use yarn and hook of choice. Sample hat was made using a soft, medium worsted weight yarn and crochet hook size I (5.5 mm).

Pattern includes sizes newborn, 3-6 mos, 6-12 mos, 1-3 years, 4-10 years, pre-teen/teen, adult ladies, adult mens. This hat is made to measuring according to the standard size chart provided in the pattern and is worked from the bottom up to the crown.
