The Crossing Sweater is very versatile. It looks equally good on men and women.

Yarn requirements by size 1020 (1100, 1100, 1210, 1310, 1400, 1400, 1480, 1550, 1610, 1680, 1740) yds; 933 1006, 1106, 1198, 1280, 1353, 1417, 1472, 1536, 1591 m

Techniques required to complete this sweater are: basic knit and purl stitches, casting on and binding off, knitting in the round, increases and decreases, simple cabling, and short rows (there is an excellent FREE short rows class on craftsy.com by Carol Feller).

The recommended bind off for this pattern is Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off, which is well described in a Knitty article online: http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall09/FEATjssbo.php, however, other bind off methods can be substituted if desired.

Sleeves are knit using Afterthought method (similar to Barbara Walker’s method) using short rows. The pattern takes you through the process step by step and before you know it you have knit a sleeve. It’s painless and you are going to love it,
