It’s good to get your wires crossed every once in a while! Enjoy knitting these two-color socks that feature raised cables on a festive striped background. All color work is done using slipped stitches, so you are never working with more than one color at a time. We’ve used our favorite no-flap gusset heel, and topped this pair off with a cuff to match those cables.

This pattern is written for the DPN, Two Circs, and Magic Loop methods, and the directions contain text and charts. Crosswired is written for Narrow, Medium, and Wide widths.

Yarn Requirements: Main Color (includes cuffs and cables): Approximately 50g yards of fingering weight yarn. Contrast Color: Approximately 40g of fingering weight yarn.

Gauge: 32 sts = 4” in Stockinette Stitch

Needles: Recommended size US 1

Accessories: Four stitch markers per sock, a cable needle, and a blunt-tipped darning needle to weave in ends.

Recommended Yarn: Fingering weight. Shown in Sock-aholic® Serene, available from Knitters Brewing Company, which is dyed by hand at our brewery using a wonderfully soft 4-ply Luxury Sock Yarn made from 50% FS Alpaca, 30% Fine Merino, and 20% Tencel. Each skein contains 470 yards, and knits at a gauge of 7-9 stitches per inch using size 1-2 needles. This yarn is fabulous for warm yet lightweight garments, and its softness makes it a pleasure to handle and wear.

Washing Instructions: Hand washing in cool water is recommended to prolong the life of any hand-knit or hand-crocheted item. Roll in a towel to remove excess water (do not twist or wring), and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight.
