These fingerless mitts were inspired by Blacker Yarn’s special 10th anniversary yarn, Cornish Tin. These cosy mitts have a cabled I-cord cast off around the hand and thumb, developed in imitation of the crimped edge of traditional Cornish pasty. Pasties were the traditional lunchtime snack, or “croust”, of Cornish tinminers, designed to contain a whole meal in one handy, and literally mine-proof, pastry case, the crimped edge providing a firm seal to ensure all the good things inside didn’t escape!

Dear Knitters - I have decided to review my pricing structure and my pattern prices will be increasing from 1st January 2018
