The Cruiser ticks all the boxes: it’s interesting to knit with an unusual construction, it’s comfy to wear, and can be worn with just about anything in your wardrobe. Effortlessly trendy, this cardigan will keep you crusin’ all day!

Difficulty Level
This design uses a unique construction and is therefore suited to knitters intermediate or above.

Pattern Notes
Cruiser is knit from the top down using short rows to shape the yoke and sleeves. The sleeves are knit at the same time as the yoke sections.

Cruiser was designed to be worn with 4-6” (10-15 cm) positive ease around the bust. As this design is a batwing shape, there is plenty of room around the upper arm. If you prefer to size down for less ease, you can easily do so by knitting the next size down.

We have used a mohair silk lace held together with a single-ply fingering weight yarn. If you don’t like working with mohair, you can easily substitute both with a DK to light worsted yarn.

Finished Measurements
34 (38, 42, 46, 50, 54, 58, 62, 66)”; 86 (96.5, 106.5, 117, 127, 137, 147, 157.5, 167.5)cm circumference at bust.

Sample size is 38”(96.5cm) shown on a bust size of 34”(86cm).

Yarn
Skein Uptown Sock
100% Superwash Merino
437 yards (400 meters) in 100g
3 (3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5) skeins
Sample colourway – Saffron

Skein Mohair Silk Lace
70% Superfine Kid Mohair, 30% Mulberry Silk
460 yards (420 meters) in 50g
3 (3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5) skeins
Sample Colourway - Old Rose

Both yarns are held together throughout the project.

Needles
5 mm (US 8) circular needles, three sets.
4 mm (US 6) circular needles.

For this design, it is much easier to use interchangable needles with stoppers so you can use the cables as holders. If you do use this method, you will need 3 cables of no less than 32”(80cm).
