This oversized slouchy tam is designed for both beauty and function. Edgy, with a touch of Bohemian flair; it provides comfort and warmth during the long, cold days of winter. Wear it loosely, or tuck your hair inside, this versatile hat will soon become your favorite.

This pattern has been written in five sizes: 0-6 month, 6-12 month, 12-24 month, 2T and up, and Adult.

It’s a great beginner pattern with common abbreviations and clear directions. No more than 200 yards of worsted weight wool are needed for your project.

I’ve updated the pattern to use a size US/6 16 inch needle for the initial cast on and brim. I have received some feedback that the brim can stretch a bit during wear, so the smaller needle size should help to make it a bit more snug, but allow for enough stretch to be comfortable.
