Cuba Street is a lively stripy hat – great for using up yarn scraps, or use two colours for a sleek, classic look. This is a great first colourwork hat – the floats are all short, and as the colourwork finishes before the crown decreases begin it’s easy to knit the colourwork section on a single circular needle (around 40cm).

The pattern is designed for sport weight yarn – if you’d like to use fingering weight yarn, knit the large size – it will result in a medium sized hat! Just remember to add a couple of rounds to the rib section, and a couple of stripes to the colourwork chart section. Remember it will take more yardage than sport weight yarn.

Gauge for colourwork is very personal - test knitters used between US 2 - US 3 (Metric 2.75 - 3.25mm) needles for this section.

Cost: I’m keen to keep this pattern affordable - that means different things to different people. I’ve set the pricing at different levels; if you’d usually pay full price for a pattern without thinking about it, I’d appreciate if if you’d do that here too! If you’d like to pay a different price, please use whichever code works for you. CUBA2 $2 - the pattern will cost you $2. CUBA4 $4 - the pattern will cost you $4.
