For this scarf, an illusion cube pattern made of knit and purl stitches flows into twisted stitch cables with an integrated I-cord edge, then back into the cubes. Pattern is charted and includes clear instructions for working 2-stitch cables without a cable needle. Worked in sport or DK weight yarn, this scarf is perfect for more temperate climates or as a spring or fall accessory. Can also be worked in worsted yarn for a larger scarf/shawl. Exact gauge is not essential for this pattern -- it’s better that you get a fabric you like -- but different gauges will make for different sizes and yarn requirements.

This pattern is available both on Ravelry and through Knit Picks.
