Enjoy this flirty combination of cables and lace! Your choice of color determines whether these socks will be the focal point of your outfit or a secret indulgence.

Architecture:
Toe up, with a short row heel. This pattern doesn’t feature a gusset, but you could easily add one of you’d like. Be aware that the fabric is extremely stretchy and you’ll most likely need only the scantiest of gussets if you choose to insert one.

Difficulty:
Intermediate difficulty. Familiarity with basic cables and lace a plus.

Yarn Recommendations:
Solid and semi-solid yarns are the best choice for the detailed fabric of Cupcake. If you find a very low saturation, or muted multi-color yarn that will work as well. (See the example photos!) If you prefer a little more color interest, heat things up with contrasting toes, heels and cuffs, rather than an overall bold colorway.

Avoid: high contrast, multi-color yarns. The pattern details won’t show when knit in a “busy” yarn.
