Everyone needs something cute to knit right now, am I right? Enter: the cuppy sweater for all the best dressed to-go cups out there!

This is a simple and quick project, but it’s a great way to learn or practice some techniques in an evening and have a fun little gift for your favorite coffee or tea drinker. First, of course, is the colors. I chose bright colors because I wanted some extra cheer. It all starts with a tubular cast on, and the sweater is worked top down. The sleeves are built like thumb gussets, and a jogless stripe is built into the pattern. A tidy sewn tubular bind- off finishes the bottom off beautifully. With tutorials for all, of course. You can knit one up from bits and pieces in an evening!

About my project

Welcome to my oddments project number two! (See the first one here.)

This has been a tough few years for many. Me too. And one thing that’s gotten me through is giving people I care about small gifts. Let’s face it: big projects are beyond what many of us want to do right now. But small bits of knitted love are so manageable, and they’re so satisfying when finished and gifted. And even moreso when they’re made from oddments.

And I wanted to share that lovely feeling with you, because we all have those stray bits and pieces of yarn here and there. They’re different weights and different colors. Some are a full skein. Some are just leftover tidbits, but you can’t throw them away! Definitely not a sweater’s worth of any one color or yarn, let alone a shawl’s worth or even a full pair of socks or mitts. You can’t imagine what to do with them, but you don’t want to part with them. Well. This is the book for you! 15 patterns to turn your scraps into loving bits of kindness that will brighten your friends’ and loved ones’ day.

All patterns have charts (if needed) and written instructions, and you can make them out of oddments. These are small projects, not big ones: the perfect size for a cozy evening or two of stitching.
