The cozy is knitted from the top down, one side at a time, then joined at the sides and bottom. Finally stitches are picked up around the top and a band knitted on. There is no sewing except for sewing in the intarsia ends and embroidering the cat’s eyes, ears and whiskers. The size is easily adjusted to fit most smart phones. The top band can be made any length, and as this is done at the very end, you can measure your phone in the cozy as you go. The width can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of starting stitches.

This is a great project for someone who wants to try their hand at just a little intarsia to see if they like it.

An intermediate knitter should have no trouble with this pattern.

Finished size: 3 1/4” (8.3 cm) wide by 6” (15 cm) tall. Remember that the thickness of your phone needs to be taken into account and a 6” tall case fits a 5 1/4” X 2 5/8” X 5/16” (13.4 X 6.6 X 0.8 cm) phone perfectly.
