The curled cowl is extremely warm and easy to wear. The inspiration for these colours came from a photograph of the northern lights commonly seen in Shetland during the long winter nights.

Size can be altered by adding or removing a repeat.

I knit these using a traditional Shetland knitting belt, however a circular needle would work perfectly, or any other preferred method that allows you to knit in the round can be used.

It is very important that the casting on and off is done loosely to ensure the cowl is comfortable when worn.
