I wish that all freshly picked flowers could last forever. With their long graceful stems and softly textured blossoms, these Cut Flowers are one way to make that wish come true.

Cut Flowers is a wide triangle shawl with mock cables and floral lace. It requires 400-450 meters of fingering weight yarn. Use needle size that gives you a nice lacy effect. Knit nupps or add beads to form the flower’s stamen. The pattern is charted.

Yellow shawl used 1 skein Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Grasshopper 100% merino, 420 yd/384 m per 100g skein on 3.75 mm (US 5) needles. Added beads. Blocked size is 142 x 51cm (56 x 20 inches). Gauge is 17 stitches per 10 cm in stockinette.

Purple shawl used 1 skein Wollmeise Pure 100% Merino, 575yd/525m per 150g on 3.5 mm (US 4) needles. Worked nupps. Blocked size 150 x 45 cm (59 x 18 inches). Gauge is 14 stitches 10 cm in stockinette.
