This is a pattern that was inspired by a picture my son drew of this fabulous sea dragon. I was particularly fond of his scaly eyebrows. This pattern quickly became a family favorite. It is done with crochet thread as opposed to yarn which allows for greater detail. I have added some notes on how to make this in yarn as an option. In yarn it is 9 inches tall and 12 inches long. The original is 6 inches tall and 8 inches long. I have included one picture of it made out of yarn. A digital copy is provided.
Gauge isn’t important with this project.
Thread needed:
2 balls of light blue
2 balls of multi blue color
2 balls of white
1 ball of dark blue
1 ball of black
1 ball of green

Note: Not a huge amount of thread is used but two balls are necessary with some of the colors due to crocheting with double threads. If using yarn only the main color needs 2 balls.

Hooks: 2.0mm and 1.75mm or 3.75mm for yarn.
A large eyed needle is also needed for assembly.
