This idea came about after a joke my Dad kept making, about cutting the tip off of the index finger of a pair of gloves so he could keep them on when out taking photos.

The pattern is designed to avoid all those little holes you often end up with around the fingers and thumbs when knitting gloves. They are also suitable for first time glove knitters - as a few of my testers have proved!

As his camera has a wheel on the back, I left the tip of the thumb free too for ease of use. However, they are also very useful when using an iPhone or smartphone! Because of the way the pattern is knitted, you can decide which fingertips you want to keep free (if any).

This pattern was released a while ago but I have recently updated it to include new sizes, which are measured around the circumference of the palm as follows:

X Small 18-20cm/7-8”
Small 20-23cm/8-9”
Medium 23-25.5cm/9-10”
Large 25.5-28cm/10-11”
