A really fun, bright beret/ tammy style hat with ever-growing daisy motif and pom pom centre. It’s a lovely, easy to wear shape that’s perfect for throwing on when it gets chilly and it’s quick to crochet

The beret is approximately 55cm around the head and there will be some natural stretch in the yarn. The daisy motif is about 24cm across the top. The motif can be expanded and the sizing could be adjusted if you need to. You’ll need around 20-30g per colour + a little extra for the pom pom and splashes of stripey colour.

This is not quite beginner crochet as there’s elements of waterfall style crochet which you may not have tried. This technique gives the look of intarsia but colours are crocheted separately using a series of chain spaces. It’s not as tricky as it might sound and there are images to help along the way. There’s also some tips for almost jogless striping, just about every crocheter’s bugbear! Apart from that all you’ll need to know is how to form a magic ring, SC, HDC, DC and increasing/decreasing (US Crochet Terms). The tutorial gives full instructions as well as images. Details for all the materials I used are also noted on the pattern but Ask a Question if you’d like to know more.

Thankyou for looking and happy hooking!
