I hate sewing things down, I despise it, actually. I dread it. It slows me down and I just don’t like it.

So that’s how this pattern was born. It was designed with a new baby in mind, something her little hands could play with while she put herself to sleep (hopefully) or just to play with the appliques during tummy time.

Introducing: Daisies and Flutterbies!

Each and every applique is worked into the pattern as you do the row it goes on. No sewing, no ends to weave in, no other work most people don’t like. I even worked over my ends so I didn’t have much “finishing work” to do.

This pattern is for the experienced crocheter, there’s lots of yarn overs and lots of “pull through 2” directions, but with over 50 - yes, 50 - pictures and 17 pages, there’s plenty of pro-quality, naturally lit, unclutttered photos to help you through. I’m also always an email away if you need help.

The blanket in the photo required 2 skeins of each color, with enough leftover to make a matching hat, if you want to go find the perfect yarn before you buy the pattern.

Note: the butterflies like to curl up, I decided to leave mine alone and flatten them for pictures, feel free to block it if they bug you. <-- see what I did there?
