2020s does 60s does 90s! A mini boxy handbag made from simple floral blocks with a checkerboard effect. It’ll be a spring /summer staple for your cottagecore wardrobe. The three-dimensional daisy petals are worked into the front loops of the first rounds.

This design is so straightforward to make with DK yarn and a 4mm hook. It’s made up of solid granny squares in two different sizes, seamed together at the end. Keep things eco with an organic or recycled cotton yarn, or something from your stash. It’s best to use natural fibres so the squares can be blocked into sharp, neat shapes. The daisy centres and petals require very little yarn, so they’re great for using up scraps.
