These are instructions to make a classic 1970s grey and black Dalek or a bronze and gold Dalek from the new series of Doctor Who that started in 2005. You can easily change the colours – white and gold, or silver and blue are other combinations that appear on-screen - or you can go wild with your imagination and make one that is bright pink or rainbow striped. I have also included a pattern for a tiny party hat so your Dalek can have have fun!

The pattern is suitable for crocheters with some experience in making amigurumi. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow if you know the basic stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi, with full descriptions to help with complicated elements such as more advanced stitches and colour changes. They are written in English using US crochet terms, and the list of abbreviations includes the UK alternatives. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have as you are making it.
