11/10/13 Note on Pattern download: It’s best to use the HDC rather than the DC in the making of the hat. Use the DC if you crochet very tightly. If you find your hat less dome shaped and more ruffly, switch to HDC or even SC if need be. I’ve made changes to the pattern on the web site.

Note: the Eye uses wire to hold it up. You can crochet a shorter “rod” for the eye and not use the wire.
