Dalkey Cowl

Fingering (14 wpi) ?
34 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches
in Cable-and-Lace Pattern, slightly stretched
US 3 - 3.25 mm
Finished cowl sizes: 17 (22.5)"/43 (57) cm

Elegant and cozy, a cowl is a very easy way to keep your neck warm without adding the bulk of a scarf. The cable-and-lace pattern used for this cowl is fun to knit and gently entwines its way around your neck. Two different sizes are given for this cowl. The larger, slouchier style is shown in the photos; as you can see, it looks great worn with a brooch to fold the excess material. This larger cowl is much easier to take on and off over the head. For a more fitted cowl, choose the smaller size and it will sit snugly around your neck; take care though to use the elastic bind-off so you have plenty of stretch to get the cowl over your head.

Finished cowl sizes: 17 (22.5)“/43 (57) cm
Shown in size 22.5” (57cm), worn with several inches of positive ease. For a fitted cowl work smaller size.
