Darjeeling Shawl
Ornate Shetland-style lace trim dresses up a simple garter stitch triangle in the Darjeeling Shawl, with a picked-up and knitted lace border and a knitted-on edging that has lace patterning on both sides for delicate openness. Hand-dyed silk lends sumptuous drape.
The inner garter stitch triangle of the shawl is worked first. Yarnover loops are picked up and the lace panel is worked along the outer edge of the triangle. Shawl stitches are bound off as the lace edging is worked.
