Dark Revolving Night is a fast to knit lace cowl. It is designed for long colour change yarns in worsted or aran weight yarn. Worked side to side, this cowl uses less than 155 metres (170 yards) of yarn and seven buttons. The lace pattern is simple and enjoyable so this pattern is suitable for beginners.

The sparkly yarn used in this pattern is called Midnight, from Patons. This yarn is the same as Red Heart Boutique Midnight. You can use any yarn of similar weight, with colour changes or without.

Full instructions are provided in both charted and written formats.

The design is named after a phrase from the Steve Fisher song, A Candle in Your Hand. The shifting colours of the pattern and the sparkling silver in the yarn remind me of the majestic slow spin of the Milky Way galaxy across the southern night sky.

The Dark Revolving Night pattern has been tested by the lovely AilaReza, FroggyMama, SlusserJewels, Tigersharkknits and yvonnet.
