Pattern Notes:

  • The hat is knit from the brim up.

  • The cast-on is done in a contrasting colour for added detail on the brim.

  • The brim is a 1x1 rib which is knit long enough for a folded brim.

  • The body of the hat features a combination of twisted stitches and colourwork knitting, to create a quilted effect.

  • It is advised to lock colourwork floats every 7 stitches.

Skill level: advanced beginner; comfortable with both stranded colourwork and cables or twisted stitches.

Gauge:
22 sts x 23 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in chart pattern in the rnd after blocking.
Each pattern repeat is 18 sts = 3.25” / 8.25 cm wide after blocking.
