This shawl is knitted in sections that are joined as you go. The lace section is simple to memorise and rhythmical to knit. The simple stocking st sections knit up in a flash and the result is a striking colourful shawl. There are full written instructions with schematics and photos for joining the sections (which is super simple!). There is also a chart for the lace section.
Although I knitted it in Knitpicks palette yarn it works well in any sock weight yarn.

You will need:
Yarn:
MC: 80g ~ 320 m/350 yds sock weight yarn. I used Knitpicks Palette yarn in Huckleberry Heather
CC: 80g ~ 320 m/350 yds sock weight yarn. I used Knitpicks Palette yarn in Indigo Heather
Needles and tools:
Circular needle size 4mm (US 6) about 80cm (32”) long.
Needle to darn in ends.
2 locking stitch markers.
Gauge:
On 4mm needles using Knitpicks palette yarn 22st and 28 rows. However, the gauge is not too important.
Size:
Wingspan: 78”/198 cm.
Depth at point: 22”/56 cm.
