I designed this hat in order to keep my ears from freezing, when walking my dogs on frosty mornings.

I have absolutely fallen in love with Sirdar Alpine Lux fur yarn. It really feels like soft and cozy bunny fur!

The ear flaps are knit flat and separately. The ear flaps are then joined in the round as you create the headband. The buffalo plaid pattern is charted and uses stranded colorworking techniques.

If you are new to stranded knitting, this would be a great first project to build on your colorwork skills.

Yarn requirements:

MC - 2 balls of Sirdar Alpine lux
CC1 - (Grey) 1 skein or 50m/55yds Cascade Eco+
CC2 - (Black) 1 skein or 70m/77yds Cascade Eco+

Gauge is calculated using Cascade Eco+ yarn and largest size needles.
