Inspired by the character in Terry Pratchett’s DiscWorld series, this pattern details how to create a cute Death of Rats – complete with scytheand floppy, pointy cloak!

The pattern has been designed using Drops Paris cotton yarn, but you can use whatever yarn you have to hand by changing the hook size accordingly. To keep the scythe proportional to the Rat, it is best completed with scraps of sports weight yarn (still using a 3.5mm hook).

Measurements: The finished pieces measure approx. 14 cm tall.

Materials required:

Aran Yarn (black, white, grey)
Sports weight yarn (brown, grey)
3.5mm crochet hook
8 mm safety eyes (x2)
Stuffing material
Stitch markers and pins
Yarn needle

Stitch knowledge required:

Sc = Single crochet
Slip st = Slip stitch
Invdec = Invisible decrease
Sc2tog = Single crochet decrease
BLO = Back loops only
