I designed this shawl for Debra as a gift for her 60th birthday. Debra has alway had a fascination with fairies, and when a found a beautiful “Fairie Fire” lace chart on www.knittingfool.com, I knew that I had to adapt it into a beautiful wrap that is inspired by her.

This shawl is designed to be knit with any weight yarn and any size needles to whatever measurements you desire. The shawl in the photo is knit with lace weight yarn and a cast-on of 69 stitches, which allows for the 9 stitch pattern repeat to be knit 6 times across each row, with 2 knit stitches before the pattern repeats begin, and then a 6 stitch garter edging on either side. The finished measurements when blocked are 65” long by 11” wide.

This is also a lace pattern which has YO stitches on both the right and wrong side rows – but do not be intimidated!!! These are very simple lace stitches with an easy chart to follow, and if you use life lines you will be just fine, as well as surprised by how painless it all is!

Happy Knitting!
