December’s design for Cottar’s Almanac is a colour-work beanie with motifs of the maker. I designed this hat as a Christmas gift for my older sister Kate, a talented maker of intricate treasures and acquirer of beautiful vintage scissors, buttons and so on. Knit in the round using stranded colour-work, you can choose the colour combinations to suit yourself or your intended recipient.
Skills Required
Tubular 1x1 rib cast on (optional-your preferred rib cast on can be used); knitting in the round (including use of DPNs or magic loop for working small circumference); stranded colourwork using a chart; decreasing using k2tog.
