This really is a quick and easy machine knit baby hat that is stunning in the Baby Jacquards yarn. It is soft and flexible. Texture is added to the beautiful colorwork with vertical channels topping the hat and a rolled up brim that reveals the reverse side’s garter stitch look.

I developed this pattern a couple of years ago for children and adults, and it remains my go-to choice for its simplicity, stretchiness, good looks, and --even better-- perfect fit. I resized it for a new great-niece. This is the first one I have done in Baby Jacquards, and it does not disappoint.

Directions are included for hand knit curlicues, a crochet flower adorning one side, and a stylish button. Those options require some familiarity with the appropriate needle craft.

Pattern is for 6-9 month baby.
