This hat is based off one I saw for sale in the mall. I really wanted to buy the hat, but it was really expensive, so I decided to recreate it myself. I striped my hat in bright colors, but you an easily make it solid colored or bi-colored. I’ve listed all the yarns that I used; some of them are worsted weights that I held together to make them bulky weights. Each stripe takes only about 25 to 30 yards of yarn, so this could be a great stash busting project. I’ve made several of these hats and I really like them.

Gauge is in 4 sts x 7 rows in stockinette stitch.

You need at least 150 yards of super bulky weight yarn. If you are doing stripes like me, however, you will need six different colors with only about 30 yards of each color. The stripes are completely optional.
