This versatile cowl can be worn long or doubled. Version one (above) shows two bright colors of worsted weight yarn alternated every row. The second version shows two subtly different sock yarns held together to create a richly colorful, super cozy winter warmer.

The piece is worked from the center spine outwards: ten rounds are worked from the foundation chain in one direction, thread is cut and reattached, and another ten rounds are worked from the foundation chain in the other direction. Thus, the two sides of the cowl are mirror images.
