YARN, GAUGE SIZE AND MACHINE
Use any soft fingering weight yarn that gets 7 stitches/10 rows/inch on a standard gauge Japanese or Passap machine. One cone of acrylic yarn will make sizes up to 44 and perhaps 46-48 depending on the specific yarn. Larger sizes should have 2 cones on hand. Finished busts are 3436, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62. The sizes listed refer to the finished front and back. Because of the behavior of sideways knits which stretch very little from side to side, it’s usually best to choose one size larger than your usual.
