This cushy square blanket adds traveling lines and a lateral braid to the traditional garter corner-to-corner construction for maximum visual impact and knitter interest. Delineate is a great choice for stylish home decor in a hand-dyed yarn, or work it in your favorite easy-care yarn for a special little one!

Pattern includes full written directions as an alternative to charts in a separate PDF (included with purchase of pattern).

Interested in trying out the construction before committing to a whole blanket? Follow the pattern as written, but work only two repeats of charts B, C, F, and G. This will yield a nice doll-sized blanket (around 16” or 40 cm on each side) when worked in Aran/heavy worsted weight yarn.

SIZE
Finished measurements after blocking: 36 by 36” [91.5 by 91.5 cm] square

MATERIALS NEEDED
Yarn:
Wonderland Yarns & Frabjous Fibers March Hare (100% merino; 184 yds/168 m per 113g skein); 6 skeins in Cabbages & Kings

If substituting yarn, you will need approximately 1000-1050 yds [915-960 m] of Aran/heavy worsted weight yarn.

Recommended needles:
US #8 [5.0 mm] circular needle, 32-40” [80- 100 cm] long

Notions:
Yarn needle, two cable needles, stitch markers (at least one of them removable)

GAUGE
Exact gauge isn’t critical, but your blanket will turn out a different size and may use more yarn if you don’t match the gauge.

16 sts/32 rows = 4”/10 cm in garter stitch, blocked.

PATTERN NOTES
-Weighing your yarn before beginning is recommended to ensure you don’t run out. Start the corner section when you’ve used around 35% of your yarn.
