These cozy cuffs and mittens were designed as companion pieces to the Amor Deliria hat, inspired by Lauren Oliver’s YA novel “Delirium”. They have the same cabled ribbing and wavey lace pattern as the hat, and are a quick and challenging knit to suit any taste.

The cuffs are worked with two needle sizes to emphasize the flare of the lace, while the mittens are worked at a tighter gauge for greater warmth. Detailed yardage requirements and measurements are provided below. Purchase both Delirium-inspired patterns to get 25% off.

Pattern is a five page pdf file, and uses charts - no written stitch directions are included.

Knitting in the round, purling, increases, decreases, cables and lace knitting. Please note that the stitch pattern used for the cuffs and the backs of the mittens has inconsistent stitch counts that may be confusing to inexperienced lace knitters.

Cuffs are sized for small/medium (medium/large), for wrist circumference of approximately 6 (7.25) in/15.25 (18.5) cm unstretched. Final cuff circumference is approximately 10 (11.75) in/25.5 (29.85) cm.

Mittens are sized for small (medium, large), with hand circumference of approximately 8 (8.75, 9.5) in/20.25 (22.25, 24.25) cm unstretched. Mitten length is 9 (10, 10.75) in/23 (25.5, 27.25) cm, and thumb length is 2.25 (2.5, 2.75) in/5.75 (6.5, 7) cm.

Cuffs require approximately 60 (70) yds/55 (64) m aran or worsted weight yarn.

Mittens require approximately 124 (160, 180) yds/114 (146, 165) m aran or worsted weight yarn.
