We all have that favorite pair of jeans that we reach for first, the one that is perfectly worn and looks good with everything, the one that is functional yet looks fabulous, and that we always feel good wearing. The Denim Cowl mimics those jeans; its stranded 2 color stitch pattern reminiscent of the texture of denim, and the colors themselves mimicking the play between light and dark. It’s roomy enough to pull on and off easily, but in keeping with the design theme it also borrows a zipper from its inspiration - only on a playful diagonal. As versatile as its inspiration, the Denim Cowl is an accessory that you’ll reach for first, day after day.

Please note that it uses two very different yarns; a plump and springy worsted weight in blue jean colors, and a soft and limp fingering weight in cream. This combo is highly recommended, as it feels amazing, and looks really neat. If you must substitute yarns, try to find a really soft and springy worsted weight, with a fingering weight that feels good against your skin. Using a cotton or otherwise non stretchy yarn for the worsted weight is generally a bad idea - wool or (a yarn with nylon in it) will pull in or stretch out as needed to make your stranding look perfectly even and flat.

Besides the two skeins of yarn, you will need a 14 inch separable zipper, and laceweight yarn or thread to sew the zipper in.
