A rich mix of tone-on-tone textures are at play here. Nubby, distressed merino twists around a thick sleek strand of shining silk to form the chunky yarn used to create a series of deep, rounded welts that are the supporting structure of this garment. In contrast, an ethereal web of mohair peeks out between the heavy welts, creating bands of transparency that assure the finished jacket will be lightweight, supple and drape elegantly. Wide gussets at the bust provide extra ease and broad lapels that can be encouraged to cascade or gathered and pinned to show off the cape-like collar.
