Circular knitting needle (32” or longer) in size US 5 (3.75 mm) or size to obtain gauge.
18 sts and 38 rows = 4” in Gtr st. Take time to save time, check your gauge.
The shawl is worked from the center of the upper edge down. A circular needle is used to accommodate the number of stitches, but the piece is worked back and forth in rows.
It is not necessary to wrap the stitches at the short row turning points because any gaps will be concealed in the garter “valleys”.
