This first booklet of mine is addressed to crocheters who have an intermediate skill level. You need to be confident in pattern reading and in problem solving, The stitches used are mostly basic, as double crochet or single crochet.
The aim of this work is to show you how to join motifs as diamonds with the as-you-go-method. I’ve been developing few designs and motifs to show you how to do that. You will practice with samples, which you can adapt later to different projects, as blankets or scarves, when your confidence with the method will be complete.
There are pictures showing you what happens with each design or motif you will decide to experiment with.
You can choose any kind of fiber and weight to work with, as the choice of these elements is adaptable to your preferences and projects, from coasters to shawls or big blankets!

While testing my notes, I was working with a 4mm hook and some DK yarns from my personal stash.
When ready to start a real project, I suggest you to try some basic diamond motifs with different yarns and hooks. Measure the dimensions of each of them and adapt them to your project. I like to use squared sheets to sketch my idea on it (for example a blanket, with its width and length in cm) and then I fit in the quantity of motifs I need to crochet to finalize my project.
I hope you will find my work useful for your purposes,
enjoy crocheting. xxxx Alessandra
